The Realities of Remote Work and Radio's Survivors

Garcia describes his move to podcasting as a mixed blessing. He had dreamed of working from home, but the reality is "you feel like you never leave work in a way." The autonomy is real—"you can pretty much do your show in your underwear"—but the boundarylessness requires deliberate effort to get out of the house. He also reveals his editing philosophy: he avoids it almost entirely, preferring to "train myself to not screw up" rather than fix mistakes later. The only exception came when a lung issue made him cough during longer segments, forcing him to cut those out.
