The Unprovable Proclamation

Maller's take on Miller's self-coronation is less about the player and more about a category of claim he calls the "unprovable proclamation." The beauty of such statements, he argues, is that you're never wrong — there's no data to disprove you. "Did Pro Football Focus drop a good hang grade?" he asks, mocking the idea that locker-room chemistry could be quantified the way pass-rush win rates are. Miller, he notes, "has investigated himself, counted the votes, and announced he won the election in a landslide."
