The Buss family trust consists of six siblings — Jeannie, Jim, Johnny, Janie, Joey, and Jesse — and according to reports, four of them voted to sell the remaining 17.8% stake in the Lakers to a group led by Josh Kushner and Bob Iger, effectively cutting Jeannie out of the ownership picture. Ben Maller frames this as "Game of Thrones with courtside seats": the heirs spent years fighting over Jerry Buss's empire, and now Jeannie has apparently lost the throne. Maller notes that since taking control of the team, Jeannie either fired or sued every one of her brothers. "The only thing the siblings can universally lock in on is Jeannie bad," he says. "That's it."
