Fable 5.1 scored a 66 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, the highest ever recorded on that meta-benchmark. It beat Opus 5 (63) and the previous Fable (62). Anthropic also says Fable 5.1 is cheaper and more efficient than its predecessors, thanks to an improved caching system that should make ordinary workloads 25% cheaper and long-horizon agentic jobs 45% cheaper.
