Trump Threatens Military Action Against Iran

President Trump said in a weekend social media post that any deal his administration reaches with Iran would be "far better" for the U.S. than the previous nuclear agreement. He accused Democratic predecessors of endangering both the U.S. and Israel. Trump stated he hopes Iran makes a deal, but warned that if they do not, the U.S. will "destroy power plants and bridges." He also claimed Iran had violated the terms of a ceasefire by blocking transit through the Strait of Hormuz. In a phone interview with PBS News Hour, Trump said, "if the ceasefire expires, then lots of bombs start going off." However, Iran’s chief negotiator responded on social media that Iran "rejects negotiations under threat."
