The UN Secretary General is in Lebanon today calling for an end to the war on Iran and the broader Middle East conflict, insisting there is "no military solution" and that only diplomacy and full implementation of UN resolutions can stop the fighting. The appeal comes as the World Health Organization condemns the deaths of fourteen health care workers in southern Lebanon in the last twenty-four hours alone. The WHO reports twenty-seven attacks on health care in Lebanon since March 2, resulting in thirty deaths and thirty-five injuries. Officials warn that the intensifying conflict increases the likelihood of further casualties.

The White House is investigating the possibility of imposing tariffs on goods from sixty economies, marking the second time this week the administration has said it would look at new tariffs under a statute meant to combat unfair trading practices. The investigations target whether foreign governments import goods produced with forced labor. Major trading partners including China, the EU, and Mexico are on the list. The White House is exploring these new tariffs after the Supreme Court last month found many of Trump's tariffs to be unconstitutional. The investigations can take months to complete, and the U.S. Trade Representative will hold hearings in about six weeks.
