Live from NPR News in Washington, President Trump said the U.S. is making major strides in its military campaign against Iran, claiming that facilities where Iran manufactures drones and missiles are being hit "one after another." He acknowledged that some of the biggest targets, like electricity production, remain untouched. The war has prompted the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, effectively choking off a key global oil route. Trump warned Iran against trying to stop the global oil supply chain, saying, "We'll take them out so quickly, they'll never be able to recover, ever." He said the U.S. is ahead of its initial timeline but did not say when the war would likely end.

Crude oil prices have risen to about $92 a barrel. In the U.S., gas prices rose a nickel at the pump overnight, according to AAA. The average price for a gallon of regular is now $3.54, more than 50 cents higher than it was ten days ago. NPR's Camila Domonosky noted that analysts expect these prices to go up, and that it is surprising prices were not much higher much sooner, given that the flow of traffic through the Strait of Hormuz dried up more than a week ago. General Dan Cain will hold a press conference at the Pentagon next hour. Turkey is deploying more Patriot Missile Defense Systems, stationing them in a province that hosts a NATO radar base. This comes after Iran recently fired two separate ballis
