To Kill A God | Campaign 2 | Ep.62

The party has just absorbed the power of a dead demigod named Iilos, growing to level nine in the process. After burying her body, creating a fake crash site, and detonating two mechanical companions to seal the cave entrance, they made their way down the mountain and camped for the night. Now, with a few days of travel back to Carmarth ahead of them, they wake to a late morning and begin debating their next move—whether to report directly to Carmina, who sent them on this mission, or to seek out Dominic, a mysterious figure who wants them to meet the demigod Stratton.

The Return to Carmarth and a Changed City

The journey back takes three days, and when they arrive, the city looks dramatically different. The walkway to Silktop is down, and crowds of people are waiting in lines—some being checked by city guards, others dropping off their resonance-gathering devices to a woman named Alura. Members of the Order of the Chrysalis are everywhere, many exhausted or injured, some carrying dead allies. Among them, the party spots Sirian, a Dragonborn they met earlier, carrying his companion Mara over his shoulder. Her body hangs limp, and Sirian's usual calm demeanor is gone—he looks distraught, staring ahead without making eye contact.
