Reverie opened a leather book with a key, smoke billowed out, and she felt something wrong—a familiar resistance, the same defense that has always kept necrotic damage at bay in her body. She sat against the wall, shaky, holding Wraith's hand. Lucia asked if she was still with them. She said yes, but something had changed.
