TNB Tech Minute: OpenAI’s Chief Revenue Officer Resigns

OpenAI’s chief revenue officer, Denise Dresser, is leaving the company less than a year after joining from Slack, where she was CEO. Her departure is the latest in a string of senior exits at the AI firm, following former COO Brad Lightcap’s resignation earlier this week and the departure last month of Fiji Simo, once OpenAI’s second-in-command. Dresser had been tasked with growing sales to large businesses adopting AI tools.

Surveillance tech company Flock Safety is introducing new safeguards to curb potential abuse of its AI-enabled cameras by law enforcement, after backlash and vandalism. By the end of 2026, all law enforcement customers must use a tool that flags abnormal activity for review — a feature Flock says has already led to arrests of officers misusing the system. The company is also requiring case codes for database searches and cutting default data retention from 30 days to seven. Flock’s cameras photograph passing vehicles to collect license plate and identifying data. Supporters say the cameras help police reduce crime; critics warn they violate privacy rights, citing incidents where officers allegedly used the cameras for unauthorized surveillance.
