A Jealous Girlfriend's Fatal Confrontation

In a cramped interrogation room, a young woman named Lindsay sits across from a detective, calmly offering him the password to her phone—"24275"—and explaining how to access her home security footage through an app called Night Owl. She seems cooperative, even helpful, as she describes the morning's events. But as the questioning deepens, a disturbing picture emerges: Lindsay has just stabbed her boyfriend Justin to death in an alley behind her apartment, and she's struggling to explain how a jealous argument over a text message escalated into a killing she still seems unable to fully process.

The Morning of the Killing

Lindsay tells the detective that Justin showed up at her apartment around 11 a.m. after they'd been texting. The conversation had been tense—she'd accused him of cheating, and he'd accused her back. When he arrived, he came inside and lay on her bed. At some point, she went outside to get something from her car, and when she came back, she noticed something wrong with his truck. "He came out, found flat, came back in there," she says, explaining that Justin discovered his tires had been slashed.
