The Monster That Learned My Name | SCP-682

The first thing you need to understand is that SCP-682 does not die. Sixty operators from an elite Mobile Task Force went into the woods with .50 caliber rifles, grenade launchers, anti-personnel mines, and RPGs. One man came out, and he only survived because the creature threw a truck tire at him, knocking him unconscious and out of the kill zone. The Foundation calls SCP-682 the "Hard-to-Destroy Reptile," but that name undersells what it actually is: a creature that can consume anything—flesh, metal, dirt, even its own shredded body—and use that matter to regenerate, reshape, and grow stronger.

The Scene in the Woods

The transcript opens with a first-person account from Gibbons, an MTF operator who watched his entire team get obliterated. He describes finding the aftermath: bodies crushed and stomped, human limbs hanging from snapped tree branches, faces no longer attached to skulls. The creature moves through the forest mumbling complaints to itself—"Stupid creatures... wipe them all away... Gibbons that you crap"—in a rumbling voice that sounds like "a boulder made of fog horn trying to whisper." It tears through another operator named Hanger mid-sentence, ripping his throat out before he can scream.
