Never Follow a Deer That Knows Your Name | SCP-6448

A man walks alone through dark woods at night, searching for Tasha—a woman with mismatched eyes, one blue and one green, who disappeared during a rescue operation two weeks earlier. He hears strange whistles, feels hot breath on the back of his neck, and fights an inexplicable urge to turn around. When he finally does look, a deer stares back at him from five feet off the ground, its legs bent backward with too many joints, its eyes set too close together on the front of its head. It stands on its hind legs, its hooves splitting into pincer-like appendages, and screams as it charges.

The Bait Operation

The man is not a civilian. He is a Foundation agent, and the encounter is deliberate. He has volunteered to act as bait for Mobile Task Force personnel waiting in ambush around a nearby cabin. His goal is twofold: to capture one of these deer creatures alive for interrogation, and to learn what happened to Tasha, who he believes was taken by the same entities during an earlier mission.
