The Case Against Credit Scores

Hosts Jay and Ken emphasized that credit scores measure debt usage—how much debt, how often it's used, utilization percentage, age of accounts, and mix of debt types—and hold no value in a debt-free life. Since Ramsey principles reject all debt, as "the borrower is slave to the lender," scores become irrelevant. Paying off debts like Caitlin's $3,000 total will cause her score to drop to zero or "indeterminate" within six to 12 months, which they described as positive, equivalent to a high score.
