The real issue, he argues, isn't whether men should take two weeks or eight weeks off—it's that most Americans have no paid leave at all. He advocates instead for policies that put more money in the pockets of childbearing-age adults: an expanded child tax credit, universal childcare, and reforming a tax code he says transfers wealth from young earners to older property owners who are no longer raising children.
