Iran's PGSA authority announced that any passage outside designated routes will not be covered by safe passage guarantees or insurance.

This directly contradicts Donald Trump's public claims that Iran has "no Navy" and that the US controls the Strait. The episode's host, Ben Meiselas, played audio of Iran's Sapan Navy issuing warnings and described the incident as a clear demonstration that the US has lost control of the waterway. The MOU signed between the US and Iran in Switzerland includes a 60-day toll-free passage period, after which Iran can charge fees — potentially raising $40 billion annually, according to a Wall Street Journal report. Meiselas argued that the MOU reads as a surrender document because the US lost the war it started.
