Trump Teases "AI Force," White House Bans CNN and More, America Gets Greenland Deal

President Trump announced on Friday that he is banning CNN, MSNBC, and Politico from the White House, calling their coverage "purposely negative shit." The following Saturday, security officers at the West Wing entrance collected press badges from reporters representing those outlets and barred them from entering. MSNBC's Akela Gardner described arriving at the first gate without issue, then scanning her badge at the second checkpoint only to get a red beeping light. An officer told her to hand over her badge and said it had been disabled. "This is the first action we know of them actually denying us entry," she said. Trump defended the move in the Oval Office, citing the 96% negative coverage he received during the election. "Now, if they want to write 'em, that's fine. But I don't have to let them into mine — into the people's house," he said. The three outlets say they will fight the ban. Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression attorney Conor Fitzpatrick called it "flatly unconstitutional" on CNN, noting that the First Amendment mandates government neutrality toward the press. The first test of media solidarity comes today, with CNN scheduled to serve as the TV pool crew for Trump's trip to the UN General Assembly.
