The episode opens with Megyn Kelly and Maureen Callahan covering a dizzying range of stories, but the dominant thread is the collapse of Trump's new press secretary Katie Zaccaria after just days on the job, alongside a deepening investigation into Ilhan Omar's citizenship that could have explosive consequences.
Ilhan Omar's Citizenship Under Scrutiny
The biggest story of the episode centers on the federal investigation into Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Federal agents raided her D.C. residence on Monday, and her whereabouts remain unknown. Kelly walks through the evidence that Omar may not be a lawful U.S. citizen — and therefore ineligible to serve in Congress.
The core issue: Omar came to the U.S. as a Somali refugee in 1995 and claims she became a citizen in 2000 through her father's naturalization. But former congressional candidate A.J. Kern, who ran against Omar, obtained documents from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Department of Homeland Security showing "certificates of non-existence of record" for Omar's father — meaning the government has no naturalization records for him. If the father was never naturalized, Omar's derivative citizenship would be invalid.
