Jimmy Donaldson (Mr. Beast) appeared on Joe Rogan's podcast with the perspective of someone who has spent over a decade building the most-watched show on Earth. His main channel alone drew roughly 850 million unique viewers in the last 90 days, with 12 billion total views across that period. But the conversation was less about celebrating those numbers and more about how he got there — a set of principles about content, risk, and execution that runs counter to how most media companies operate.

The core of Donaldson's approach is a refusal to let people say "no" before the actual constraints are known. He tells his team that almost anything is possible if you're willing to spend the time and money. "Before you do the work and just figure out what time it takes and how much money it costs, you can't say no to something," he said. His example: spending 100 hours living inside the pyramids of Egypt, something everyone told him was impossible until he spent years negotiating with Egyptian authorities. "Technically anything's possible," he said. "If as humans we really wanted to, we could technically blow up the moon with enough nukes." The question is never can we, but is it worth the effort.
