The problem, he explains, is that "when the problem is a two out of 10 is the time you should be having it, versus letting it fester and then it becomes a six or a seven out of 10." By the time the leader finally acts, the stakes are higher, the organization has been suffering longer, and the emotional charge is much harder to manage.
