"You've Been Talking to Me. I Just Didn't Know How to Talk Back."

A woman named Holly calls into the Dr. John Delony Show about a secret that has been corroding her integrity for over a year. Her brother-in-law had an affair twelve years ago, which Holly discovered by accident. Her husband kept it secret at his brother's request, and Holly was furious about the secrecy. The affair ended, the wife found out, and the grown children never learned. Then, a year and a half ago, the same mistress reached out to Holly again: the affair had resumed, and the woman wanted Holly to tell her brother-in-law to stop contacting her. Holly did confront him. The affair ended. But the wife and adult children still do not know.

Holly now carries the secret. Every family gathering feels like a performance. The adult children believe their parents have an idyllic marriage. Holly's own children know the truth and want nothing to do with their uncle. Her husband defends his brother and has not confronted him.
