The Hobbit Cards That Will Reshape Commander

The Queen of Dale costs one white mana for a 2/1 legendary creature, and whenever an opponent casts their first non-creature spell each turn, you recruit — draw a card, then discard a card, and if you discarded a nonland card, create a 1/1 token. "This is a white Ledger Shredder," Josh says, and the comparison is apt. White has never had a looter before, and the implications ripple across the format. The token generation pairs naturally with white's existing draw engines like Welcoming Vampire and Caretaker's Talent, while the looting fills graveyards for white's recursion strategies. "It's not hyperbolic to put this in the conversation with the best white card printed since Esper Sentinel," Rachel says. The hosts rank it second only to Esper Sentinel among white staples, slotting into every deck that plays white regardless of its other colors.
