On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, New York Mayor Eric Adams—who was nine years old when the attacks happened—faced a barrage of questions about whether he should attend memorial ceremonies. The attacks had nothing to do with him, yet critics invoked his Muslim faith and his past legal work for a 9/11 defendant as reasons to bar him. "This bullshit that the New York Post and Rudy Giuliani claimed to speak for 9-11 families with this fake petition," Mehdi Hasan told Tim Miller, pointing out that actual family members he interviewed had said the opposite. One mother who lost her daughter in the World Trade Center told Hasan the only reason she would attend the ceremony was "because I love Zoran Mamdani."
The Myth That Muslims Didn't Condemn 9/11
Hasan pushed back hard on the persistent narrative that Muslim communities failed to denounce the attacks. "There was a website was created where people Muslims like, here's the list. Here's every imam scholar organization around the world who has condemned 9/11," he said. Yasser Arafat gave blood for American victims the day after. Iranians held candlelight vigils in Tehran for a country that was not their ally. The mayor of Tehran expressed solidarity with New York.

Show Notes
Rudy Giuliani and others who purport to represent the families of 9/11 victims ginned up the idea that it would be wrong for the Muslim mayor of NYC to attend Friday's memorial at ground zero. Republican politicians and Laura Loomer keep pushing their trash Islamification conspiracy. And a law-abiding Muslim family has been imprisoned for five months because Rubio declared them a national security threat—and most of the media could care less. At the same time, Tucker has a new, large Muslim fan base because they like what he's saying about Gaza and the Palestinians, even though he's a solid anti-Muslim bigot who just hates the Jews more right now. Plus: Trump seems to really like communism, JD has never publicly said he opposes the Iran war but he keeps leaking that he's against the administration's signature foreign policy initiative, and Hunter is a crypto-scamming mess.
