Buzz Lightyear is an American Hero

Brittany Broski, dressed as Buzz Lightyear and visibly sweating under the costume, opens this episode of The Broski Report with a pressing geopolitical question: what were Buzz Lightyear's politics? "Do you think that he supports open carry? Do you think that he would have been a right-wing voter?" She reasons through the evidence—he works for the United States government, is probably part of Space Force, is "a pawn of the DOD"—and concludes that "all geopolitical signs point to him being kind of a right-wing puppet." But she chooses to believe otherwise. "In my fantasy, I choose to believe that Buzz Lightyear is a force for good." Still, she concedes the gray area: "You work for space, you've seen things beyond all human grasp, and then you're still a little bit American."

The Toy Story Smash-or-Pass Thought Experiment

The episode's central conceit is a "Nietzsche of sorts, a Freudian thought experiment": smash or pass every character in the Toy Story universe. Broski works through the cast with elaborate character studies that double as social commentary.
