In the fourth week of the NFL season, the Minnesota Vikings are 4-0 and nobody knows what to make of them. Bill Simmons and Cousin Sal spent a whole segment trying to figure out if a team with an offense this bad has ever started a season undefeated. The Vikings beat the Dolphins by five points despite scoring just one first-half touchdown all year. Their defense is blitzing constantly and getting away with it — for now. "It is about the worst 4-0 team I've seen," Simmons said. "They're just going to be the team we know who it is every year by usually November. They'll probably go 13-4 and we will not be able to wait to bet against them in round one."

The NFC hierarchy and the "cross-off" teams

The NFC playoff picture is taking shape around three strong teams from the NFC West — San Francisco, Seattle, and the Rams — plus the Cowboys as a fourth contender. The NFC North could send two teams, but Simmons is skeptical of the Packers ("a dumbass team") and the Vikings. The Lions defense is so bad that Simmons called it "a zet-bound of the NFL" that makes every opposing offense look great. The Bears, under Ben Johnson, might duct-tape their way to 10 wins.
