How a New Film Frames the Fight Against Communism's Cultural Revival

Ben Shapiro opens this episode of The Ben Shapiro Show with an extended argument about why the Daily Wire's new film Confession matters beyond its artistic merits. The movie, which premiered at the Warsaw Film Festival and will stream on Daily Wire beginning November 11, is a psychological drama set during the Stalin era about Soviet interrogation tactics and forced confessions. He contrasts his film's approach with Netflix's upcoming Narnia adaptation, which he dismisses as "colorful slop" directed by someone who has said the "God the Father" concept is "alienating as a woman." For Shapiro, the problem is not just bad art but the systematic emptying out of meaning from Western cultural properties.
