The Capabilities Jump Is Real

On the Artificial Analysis intelligence index, Fable 5.1 jumped from an overall score of 62 (Fable 5) to 66, putting it ahead of Opus 5 at 63. Anthropic now holds the top three spots on the index, all slightly ahead of GPT-5.6 Sol. The gains are especially pronounced on agentic scientific research: Fable 5.1 scored 52.6% on terminal bench science, nearly double the previous high of 29% from Opus 5. Computer use capabilities also improved meaningfully.
