The Adventure Zone: Providence Trailer

The Adventure Zone is returning with a new mini-series, Providence, and its trailer introduces the premise with a brisk, comedic setup. Three minor gods—Spira (god of bellows), Tintabula (god of bells), and a third deity who is the god of the marine chronometer—are summoned by a higher power and informed that someone in the mortal realm is assembling a ritual. This ritual, if completed, would sever the connection between the gods of the Providence Plain and the objects of the Mortal Plane. The solution is straightforward: the three gods must travel to the mortal realm, keep a low profile, and stop the ritual.

The trailer wastes no time establishing the central tension. The gods are explicitly described as "non-essential," suggesting they are underqualified and likely to bumble their way through the mission. This is reinforced by the immediate comedy of the marine chronometer god struggling to pronounce his own domain, and by Spira’s question about whether they have ever pretended to be human before. The answer, implied by the awkward silence and the subsequent offer to "hand me back however much you don't need for this," is no.
