5 min readNvidia Launches Agent Safety Platform, SpaceX Finally Reaches Orbit, and Meta Pivots to Enterprise AI
The Monday news cycle was dominated by three major tech developments: Nvidia's new safety framework for containing AI agents, SpaceX's long-awaited Starship orbital achievement, and Meta's formal entry into enterprise AI sales. A $1 billion funding round for AI agent startup Instinct and a White House dinner between President Trump and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei rounded out a busy day.
Nvidia's Open Agent Safety Platform
Nvidia launched what it calls the Open Agent Safety Platform, a reference design intended to prevent AI agents from escaping their containment sandboxes. The platform consists of two components: OpenShell, which runs on central processors and sets limits on agent capabilities, and Sentry, which monitors agents and runs on network chips rather than CPUs or GPUs. Some of the software is open source, and Nvidia is positioning it as a reference design for partners to build commercial products on top of.
"You can't have agents roam around and drift around the company, and so you have to find a way to contain it," Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told CNBC. He described the platform as essentially "a browser for agents," providing a containment system that only allows access to what an agent needs to do its job.
