Roblox has 400 million monthly active users, and one in two American kids under 16 plays it every day. Those kids spend more than twice as much time on Roblox as they do on TikTok. But the platform remains a "huge untapped opportunity" for most creators and businesses because they do not understand how it actually works or how to reach the audience that lives there.

The scale nobody sees

The raw numbers are difficult to grasp. Roblox's 400 million monthly active users make it larger than many entire social media platforms. More striking than the user count is the engagement: the average young user spends over two hours per day inside the Roblox ecosystem. That is roughly double the time the same demographic spends on TikTok. And crucially, about half of the time those kids spend on TikTok is used to find their next Roblox game to play. TikTok is not a competitor to Roblox—it is a discovery funnel for it. The platform has become the default digital hangout for an entire generation, yet most adults and most brands have no mental model for what that actually means.
