He built 28 apps in 8 months and now makes $10K/month

Max is a full-time iOS engineer, father of two, and the creator of 28 simple mobile apps that collectively generate $10,000 in monthly revenue. He built them all in eight months while working his day job. The apps have over 1,000 subscribers and 45,000 daily users. Four of them account for the bulk of the revenue—each bringing in around $1,500 per month—while the rest produce small amounts. He calls it a textbook example of the 80/20 rule.

What changed everything for Max was a single YouTube video by Adam Slivka. Before that, Max had spent years trying to grow one pet project, pouring time into it with no results. The video showed him a different approach: build a simple app with one feature, ship it, forget about it, and move on to the next one. He had never considered that strategy. Once he tried it, the results came fast.

How he finds ideas that actually make money

Max does not guess what people want. He uses ASO (App Store Optimization) tools like Astro to search for keywords with the right balance of popularity and low competition. His rule of thumb: a keyword should have at least 20% popularity and 60–70% difficulty. He then checks the top competitors using Sensor Tower or similar tools to estimate their monthly revenue. If a competitor is making less than €100–200 per month, he skips that market entirely.
