Scary Stories - The Sky Above

In a small Midwestern town where people have been vanishing after dark, a recent high school graduate named Wes attends a party under an old wooden bridge with his friends. After a drunk friend named Jake wanders off into the tall grass to urinate and never returns, the partygoers begin to notice a strange, low-pitched gasping sound coming from above them. When a truck's headlight and radio cut out, the creatures in the sky strike, snatching people one by one with terrifying speed. Within minutes, only Wes, his friend Claire, and the abrasive Dax remain alive, huddled under the bridge, realizing that the light from the remaining truck seems to be the only thing keeping them safe.

The story, narrated as a first-person account, unfolds as a survival horror episode driven by a single, chilling question: what happens when the only thing protecting you from an unseen predator begins to fail? The central thesis is that the creatures—whatever they are—hunt in darkness and are drawn to movement and sound outside of direct light. This is established through a series of escalating failures.
