Scary Stories- Death Comes to All Who Read

A man walks into a vintage bookstore after his office catches fire. He finds a book with a deep marine cover and gold lining, no title, no author. It reads like a journal, with entries spanning decades. The first entry is about a man who lost two children to tuberculosis. The second is a woman planning her wedding. The third is a woman trying to escape her marriage. The fourth entry has no date. It describes a man whose office caught fire, who grabbed his laptop and two novels, who ate a Vietnamese sandwich to calm down, who wandered aimlessly and found a small bookstore. The man reading the book realizes, with a sinking dread, that the fourth entry is about him. He cannot stop reading. The words keep appearing. The last thing he reads is the old shopkeeper's voice, repeating: "Finish the story." Then the date appears: May ninth, 2014.
