Scary Stories - Abandoned

Five friends entered a long-abandoned asylum in the mountains, built in the early 1800s and closed by the 1920s. The narrator, a self-described adrenaline junkie who usually seeks thrills from bungee jumping and reckless driving, went along mostly out of boredom. He didn't believe in ghosts. But as the group explored the decaying building, he began catching glimpses of stealthy movements in the shadows. When the sun started to set, he saw five shadows on the wall instead of four. One of them was not his own.

The Shadow That Follows

The narrator had ignored the stories his friends Johnny and Susan researched online—tales of a shadow person who roamed the asylum. He only learned the rules after it was too late. The shadow could move along walls and ceilings, had red eyes that appeared when it opened them, and avoided direct light. Susan whispered the key warning: don't let it touch you. According to the stories, the shadow makes people disappear. It had thrown a kid off the stairs and killed him. The narrator asked where it took them, and Susan snapped back: no one knows, and she didn't want to find out.
