The Two Sides of the Debate

The recent flare-up began with a post from theologian Wes Huff, who explained that in academic circles, “Judeo-Christian” simply refers to the combined corpus of the Old and New Testaments—the Jewish heritage of the Hebrew Scriptures plus the New Testament. “It has nothing to do with geopolitics or a one-world order,” he wrote. On the other side, critics like Posobiec and others in the “theobro hyper-patriarchy” camp argue that the term is a demonic heresy, an invention designed to elevate Judaism to the same level as Christianity. Some go further, claiming that Abraham, Moses, and David were “Christian” and that the Old Testament belongs exclusively to the church.
