Our Parents home is HAUNTED

The Castro family—Louie, Yoatzi, and their parents—gathered in costume as La Familia Peluche for a Spanish-language Halloween episode of Pretty, Not Smart. What started as a lighthearted costume bit quickly turned into a sprawling family conversation about the unexplained: lights that turn on by themselves, a Roomba that keeps getting unplugged, a TikTok video that developed a ghostly audio track, and a childhood memory of a shadow figure in the hallway. The episode is less a structured investigation of the paranormal and more a warm, meandering family hangout where superstition, grief, humor, and genuine unease all sit at the same table.

The Haunted House That Might Just Be a House

The episode’s core thread is the family’s shared experiences with things that go bump—or click, or hum—in their homes. Yoatzi’s mother describes a closet light in the guest room that keeps turning itself back on, even after she’s sure she switched it off. She’s taken photos to prove it. “No es la primera vez,” she insists. Louie’s mother, meanwhile, recounts a recurring issue with her robotic vacuum: she’ll program it, only to find it unplugged and neatly stowed away, wires wrapped, as if someone deliberately disconnected it. She initially blamed her parents, but they denied touching it. “Yo digo que hasta amarramos alambres,” she says, baffled.
