On the one-year anniversary of Charlie Kirk's death, Michael Knowles and Isabel Brown sat down to remember the Turning Point USA founder—not to canonize him, but to reckon with what he built and what his absence means. Knowles recalled the moment he learned Kirk had been shot: "It didn't even occur to me that he could be seriously injured, much less be killed." Knowles helped connect Kirk with the Claremont Institute's Lincoln Fellowship, a ten-day crash course in political philosophy. Kirk initially resisted, but once he committed, he dove deep, and the relationship between Kirk and the institute benefited both sides.
