Mike Morones was shot three times at age 17 — in the back of the head, in the leg — during a carjacking that left him in a month-long induced coma. He remembers no tunnel, no spiritual beings, only a doctor with a reggae voice telling him he would be okay before the morphine took over. When he woke up, his senses were heightened. He could learn anything quickly: web development, graphic design, photography. That near-death experience, combined with childhood encounters with an entity he saw playing under a bed in a house next to a cemetery, set him on a path as a solo paranormal investigator. The experience that changed everything

Morones grew up in a house within walking distance of a cemetery. As a teenager, he saw a small girl in a dress picking up toys under a bed in the middle of the night. He threw G.I. Joes at her to scare her off; she turned and gave him a nasty look, and he froze. The family moved a mile down the road, and Morones believes whatever was in the first house followed them — his grandfather later reported seeing a woman with curly hair stick her head into a bathroom when no one else was home.
