When Kev LeStarge went on his first Bigfoot expedition with the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) in Los Alamos, New Mexico, he expected an adventure. The next night, his team was growled at, and a leader told them: if you get bluff charged, don't look it in the eyes, just put your head down and sit down. That was the moment LeStarge had to give a verbal commitment that this creature was real, and that he would treat an encounter like a safari with a silverback gorilla. He has not looked back since.

The Evidence That Changed Everything

LeStarge is careful not to overclaim. He describes the most compelling evidence not as a single artifact, but as the global consistency of the phenomenon. "It's all of the artifacts and stories that have been collected around the world," he says. "It's not just America. We're talking about the Yeren of China, the Yeti of Nepal, the Yowie of Australia, the woodwose of England." These are not fun encounters, he adds, but they are persistent across cultures and centuries. Indigenous peoples in North America have etched these creatures on cave walls and stone, treating them as "the other tribes of the forest."
