U.S. planes hit Iranian missile and drone storage locations as well as a coastal radar site Sunday, marking the second day of strikes since Iran hit a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz this past week. Tehran has also launched attacks on other U.S. sites in Kuwait. Iran called these latest strikes a firm response to the U.S. attacks.

The death toll from Venezuela's devastating earthquakes continues to rise as aid now begins to arrive. Cargo planes carrying emergency aid are beginning to land in Venezuela after the main airport in Caracas partially reopened to relief flights. U.S. officials say they hope to deliver the first mobile hospitals as rescue workers continue to battle unstable rubble and damaged infrastructure in search of survivors. In one of the few moments of hope, a newborn baby was rescued from the rubble in the Venezuelan city as teams and civilians alike continue digging through collapsed buildings.

The president is nominating a former Oklahoma State trooper to lead Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The nominee, Shroyer, is senior advisor to Homeland Security Secretary Mark Wayne Mullin and has been overseeing coordination of immigration enforcement, according to the agency. He previously worked at the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety.
