He justifies this small rule-breaking with a wry thought: "Well, coffee isn't really a drink. It's a lifeline, a cultural touchstone, an energizing ritual." As a song winds down, he slides the mic fader up and delivers the weekend weather: a pleasant 78°F in downtown Nothing Much, with a low of 59°F overnight — "what we call in this neck of the woods good sleeping weather." He mentions a possible rainstorm early next week, adding the local refrain: "Sure needed this rain."
