From telemarketer to $200M supplement brand in 20 months

Danny Yeung was 15 years old, kicked out of high school in San Francisco for fighting, and selling timeshares over the phone. He'd dial 100 to 200 people a night, get rejected 95% of the time, and just keep dialing. Three decades later, that same persistence—combined with an instinct for category positioning and a willingness to bet against conventional wisdom—has produced IM8, a supplement brand that hit $200 million annual revenue run rate in 18 months. For comparison, AG1 took 10 years to reach $100 million.

After COVID, Yeung's life sciences company Prenetics went from a billion-dollar valuation to a $50 million market cap in 18 months. Revenue dropped 95% overnight. The board wanted to shut it down and return capital to shareholders. Instead, Yeung decided to enter the supplement category—a move everyone advised against.

What changed his mind was a conversation with David Beckham. Beckham described the same problem Yeung had identified: taking 12 to 15 pills daily is unsustainable, especially while traveling. Yeung pitched Beckham not as an ambassador but as a co-founder, with the condition that "this brand has to live beyond you." That distinction mattered. Beckham had rejected similar offers for 30 years.
