In the winter of 2015, French psychic medium and radio reporter Patricia Dare received a cryptic text from an unknown number: "The castle wants you, the castle is calling you. Come." It came from Bérenger, a woman who had previously begged Patricia's help with hauntings at the castle where her husband Remy worked as caretaker. Skeptical but intrigued on her day off, Patricia visited their cottage near the castle in France.

Initial Reports and First Investigation

Bérenger and Remy described eerie phenomena starting weeks after taking the job, which included free housing in the cottage. Bérenger heard footsteps and running on upper floors while alone in the castle. Remy heard loud screams from distant areas. Both seemed genuinely traumatized, not exaggerating, though Patricia knew most haunting claims had rational causes like echoes or settling structures.

They led her to the imposing castle with its towers and turrets. Inside the cold Great Hall, Patricia tested a theory: Bérenger's recent footsteps sounds coincided with closing shutters. Shutting them produced no echoes resembling steps. As she reached for another, a high-pitched shriek erupted from upstairs, followed by silence, then another scream from a different voice.
