Attacks at ODU and Michigan Synagogue Investigated as Terror

At Old Dominion University, a former National Guardsman stormed into an ROTC class and killed a retired military officer, wounding two others before students in the class subdued him. The attacker, identified as Mohammed Baylor Jalo, shouted "Allahu Akbar" during the assault. According to authorities, Jalo had a criminal record and links to terrorism — he was sentenced to 11 years in prison in 2017 for attempting to provide material support to ISIS and was released from prison in December 2024. The FBI is investigating the incident as a terror attack.
