The Bible does not tell us who these men were—brothers, cousins, close friends—but they loved this man and believed Jesus could heal him. There is no evidence the sick man believed Jesus could heal him. He is recorded as doing nothing, saying nothing, asking nothing, believing nothing. He is entirely passive in his own deliverance.
