AI Summary
5 min readFor anyone who has ever found themselves in the middle of Montana with no cell service and a daughter’s homework map as the only guide back to civilization, the value of a simple, non-digital navigation tool becomes suddenly obvious. That is the core metaphor behind the "Real Life Pocket Map" introduced on this episode of Title Women: a single-page, low-distraction system designed to replace the overwhelm of weekly 47-step plans with a calm, repeatable framework for tracking progress on what actually matters.
The hosts, Jamie Hass, Kaylee Holbert, and Patricia Lambert, open with a vivid story about a family road trip where a physical atlas—bought on Amazon because gas stations no longer carry them—became essential. The point is not nostalgia. It is that technology, while powerful, is also inherently distracting. Pulling out a phone to check a task often leads to TikTok, Instagram, or a cascade of notifications that derail focus for 15 minutes. The Pocket Map is the antidote: one page, no notifications, no algorithms. It gets you where you want to go without the detours.

What you'll learn
- 1 (01:15) **Why an Atlas? The Metaphor for Your Week** - Hosts open with a nostalgic/humorous story about using physical maps (an atlas) in a dead zone, framing it as a low-distraction, reliable tool.
- 2 (04:08) **Introducing the "Real Life Pocket Map"** - The core concept: a single-page, distraction-free system to track priorities, reduce decision fatigue, and replace the "47-step plan" every week.
- 3 (06:16) **Step 1: Identify Your Three Priorities or Habits** - The first actionable step: choose 3 small, trackable habits to build 5 days a week (not 7), aiming for 80% consistency over perfection.
- 4 (07:07) **Habit Criteria: Aligned & Tiny** - Habits should support energy and focus, be "brushing your teeth" level small, and ideally compound across multiple life areas (personal, business, etc.).
- 5 (08:31) **Real-Life Example: Patricia's Dance Practice** - A specific example of a habit: 5 days of dance practice, where even 90 seconds counts, to build momentum from zero.
- 6 (10:48) **Real-Life Example: Jamie's Email Inbox** - Another concrete example: keeping email count under a specific number (e.g., 900) to reduce overwhelm and stay organized.
- 7 (12:42) **Wrap-Up & Call to Action** - Recap of the "bite-sized intro." Encouragement to identify three daily habits and share them via comments or messages.

Show Notes
Have you ever used an atlas? In our opening side quest, we talk about atlases, getting lost with no cell service, and then tie it all back in with having a distraction-free map to daily habit that will help you to achieve your dream goals.
Whether you’re goal is to stay connected and aware of incoming communications, so you set a daily action of clearing out emails in your inbox, or your goal is to improve your physicality so that you can be a stronger dancer and instructor for your students, there is a pocket map for you!
The Real Life Pocket Map is a collaborative tool created by Jamie and Patricia to help you to look at what you can do that moves the needle forward each week, stretches you just a little bit, and ultimately helps you to meet your next goal. This can be applied to life, business, and beyond.
The premise is, choose three habits that you will commit to 5 days a week. Track throughout the week to see your commitment and progress over time, and each week assess how those habits are fitting in with your day-to-day. The pocket map keeps your journey clear, uncomplicated, and allows for assessment and re-plotting of your course as needed.
