In this solo episode of Happy & Healthy, Ward walks through the specific things she has stopped caring about as she has aged, grounding each shift not in cynicism but in a deepening Christian faith. The episode is less a list of grievances and more a quiet argument for releasing pressure, shrinking your circle, and letting your relationship with God look less like a performance.
The slow unraveling of the hustle
Ward’s central claim is that her 30s have been better than her 20s precisely because she no longer feels the need to keep up. In her 20s, she says she was "dumb, making mistakes, didn't know who I was, didn't like myself, didn't know God, insecure, dating the wrong men." The shift, she insists, is not just natural maturity but a direct result of abiding in Jesus. "I have found the slower I go, the more I can hear God," she says. She now sees constant hurry and productivity as spiritually corrosive: "If you are constantly having a productivity list and having to have endless goals and endless checkmarks… where is there time for God to interrupt your schedule?" Show Notes
Okay you guys, I’m 32, I’m a mom, and there are officially some things I simply do not care about anymore 😂 In this episode, I’m sharing the things I’ve slowly let go of as I’ve gotten older—from keeping up with every fashion trend and holding onto friendships I’ve outgrown, to having the “perfect” quiet time, knowing every piece of internet drama, and putting crazy pressure on myself with fitness and food.
More than anything, I’ve realized how sweet life becomes when you stop living for everyone else’s approval and start slowing down enough to actually enjoy what God has given you. We talk about protecting your peace, choosing friendships that are faithful and life-giving, letting your relationship with Jesus be genuine instead of aesthetic, and embracing a healthier, more sustainable way of living.
