AI Summary
5 min readIt was the detail that stopped the story cold: a toddler playing in a kiddie pool in a pink Winnie the Pooh swimsuit, suddenly forced underwater by something wearing dirty old combat boots—something her mother couldn't see. The listener who wrote in was describing an attempted drowning by an entity she believed had attached itself to her before she was born, following her mother home from teenage games of hide-and-seek in graveyards. This was one of several harrowing accounts in the episode, which the hosts, Acey and Natalie, framed as a "Listener Story Day" marking the three-year anniversary of their podcast, Ghosteas. The throughline of the episode is the unpredictable and often dangerous nature of paranormal encounters, particularly those initiated through Ouija boards or inherited from family history, and the hosts' recurring struggle to reconcile their own curiosity with their fear.
