The Digital Doctor

In late August 2026, a 40-year-old Illinois mother named Cory Walsh walked into her basement and hanged her two-year-old son, Bear, because she believed he was the Antichrist. Three and a half hours earlier, she had been in a group chat discussing the Lindsey Clancy trial—a high-profile case where a mother who killed her children was found not guilty by reason of insanity. The host of Dead Rabbit Radio, Jason Carpenter, sees this as a grim prediction fulfilled: he had recently wondered aloud whether an acquittal in that trial would embolden copycat killings. Whether it was a psychotic break or a copycat effect, the timing is hard to ignore.

This episode of the daily paranormal podcast weaves together three segments—a personal haunting, a true crime story, and a reflection on AI—that at first seem unrelated. But they share a quiet throughline: the question of what happens when you trust something outside yourself, whether it's a voice in the backyard, a legal precedent, or an algorithm that summarizes your life's work.
