The Cat Disease Episode

The host of Dead Rabbit Radio, Jason, opens this episode with a confession: he thinks he might have a cat disease. He's been caring for three newborn kittens with a contagious eye infection, and now his own eyes are irritated, he's exhausted, and his hip hurts. He's not sure if he has cat scratch fever or the kitten eye disease, but he's pretty sure he's been pranked by a cat named Annihilator.

The Kitten Care Nightmare

The episode's central story is Jason's unexpected weekend as a kitten caretaker. His friend Sabine found three kittens in her garage—Annihilator (Annie), Harriet, and Princess—and then left for a pre-arranged trip, leaving Jason in charge. What he thought would be a fun weekend playing with cats turned into a grueling schedule of syringe-feeding goat milk, cleaning infected eyes, and wiping kitten butts so they could defecate. The kittens had a contagious eye disease, and Jason had to clean their gooey eyes every four to five hours while getting scratched and clawed in the process. He bought puncture-resistant gloves, which turned out not to be cat-claw-resistant.
